Mr Zuo Xiaosi is a Grade I registered architect, legal representative, founder and principal of Zuo Xiaosi Architects & Engineers. He has served twice as a members of the CPPCC national committee, Shenzhen. He is a member of the council of the Shenzhen Society of Registered Architects,a member of the Planning Commission of Shenzhen Municipality of Art and Architectural Environment, and was formerly the president of the National Association of Private Architecture Practices.
He has actively contributed to architecture in China over the last 50 years, earning numerous awards and citations for his work. He graduated in 1960 from the South China University of Technology, with a diploma in architecture. In 1983, as an architect, he took part in the construction of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in urban planning and development of the city. He has personally contributed to over 100 built works.
In 1992, Zuo Xiaosi applied to the Shenzhen Municipal Government and established the International Standards of Design Companies under the section ‘Architects’. The application was approved by the State Ministry of Construction, being awarded Grade A registration as China's first Grade A privately owned architecture practice. Zuo Xiaosi Architects & Engineers was formally established in January 1994. He has always highlighted the importance of sensitivity to location, culture and function, and is committed to the continuous development of architecture through design.
